'Equal at Work' awarded 'model of best practice' at EU event
In a Europe-wide evaluation of over 300 projects funded under European Social Fund programmes over the last five years, the DEP Equal at Work project was one of just six selected from a shortlist of sixteen and awarded as a 'model of best practice' at an event in Prague on 4th June.
The evaluation project, funded by the European Commission (visit http://www.keepingontrack.net/), examined projects which had been implemented under three programmes: Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig and EQUAL. The project was presented at the event by DEP evaluator Finbar McDonnell of Hibernian Consultants.
Commenting on the event, Mr. McDonnell said: "It is a great honour for the DEP and for EQUAL in Ireland, and reflects the strategic nature of Equal at Work. Praise should also be given to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment as the main co-funders in Ireland. There was great interest in the project following my presentation in the Q&A session afterwards."
The final evaluation report of Equal at Work is on the DEP website at: Equal At Work "Building an Irish labour market based on equality and diversity"
